Electric Van Price Comparison
Over the past number of years, the presence of electric van fleets on our roads has increased significantly. For instance, major retailer Amazon has recently ordered 1,800 electric vans for its EU fleet, as part of their goals to develop a carbon neutral business by 2040. Established brands such as Ford, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Renault, Nissan and Vauxhall have all introduced electric vans while numerous companies have learnt about the savings and positive environmental impact associated with switching to an electric van fleet.
If you’re considering electrifying your fleet or updating your current electric van fleet, then you’ll require some expert knowledge on electric van prices and options in Ireland.
Here at TSG Charge, we are Ireland’s leading electric vehicle charging company. We have a workforce of electricians, installation experts and project managers across Ireland, as well as our own call centre in Dublin. Our EV experts have decided to combine this knowledge to provide you with an electric van price comparison guide for nine of the best models on the market to support your electric van purchasing decision.

Nissan’s electric van has become popular in Dublin as it is especially suited to City businesses. The e-NV200 has a range of up to 301km in City mode. Thanks to its compact size and spacious interior you’ll have no issues finding a parking space or manoeuvring tight corners while having all your contents fit neatly inside thanks to its 4.2 cubic meter load volume. The Nissan e-NV200 is simply effortless in traffic with no roaring engine or manual gearbox.
In 2018 the e-NV200 was upgraded to a 40kWh battery with a fast charge feature taking between just 40 and 60 minutes.
Volkswagen Abt e-Transporter

- Range: Up to 130km
- Load volume: 6.7m³
- Payload: Up to 855kg
The Abt e-Transporter is suited to a range of business types including couriers, delivery drivers and local businesses. A range of up to 130km, 6.7 cubic meter load volume and a payload of up to 855kg makes the Abt e-Transporter ideal for meeting the demands of the working day.
Power is not compromised in this VW electric van with the standard 83kW electric motor packing 200 Nm of torque and an acceleration time from 0-100kmph of 17.4 seconds.
The electric drive system is available in one body length but also comes in a five-seat Kombi specification. The Abt e-Transporter has multiple charging options including high-speed CSS charging which can take the battery from 0% to 80% in just 45 minutes. All of this makes the Abt e-Transporter the most impressive Volkswagen electric van.
Mercedes eSprinter
- Price: From €58,000
- Range: Up to 154km
- Load volume: 11m³
- Payload: Up to 774kg
The Mercedes eSprinter is aimed primarily at businesses who conduct ‘last-mile’ deliveries in more urban areas.
The initial offering is a high-roof panel-van form with a maximum load volume of 11 cubic meters. Its standard charging speed is 20kW but this can be upgraded to 80kW rapid-charging which decreases charging time from two hours to thirty minutes. This Mercedes electric van has an electric range of up to 154km and a claim from Mercedes that the eSprinter will retain 70% of its battery capacity after eight years. This makes for a good investment for a business who requires a spacious van for every day, urban-focused drops, which will last the test of time. Our experts regard the eSprinter as the best electric van from Mercedes.
Mercedes eVito
- Price: From €44,000
- Range: Up to 150km
- Load volume: 6m³
- Payload: Up to 1,015kg
The second Mercedes electric van on our list is the eVito. The eVito electric van is
recommended for city traffic or for companies who run scheduled, recurring routes. This
model is perfect for demanding tasks with its volume of cargo, with the electric drive not restricting the cargo space volume in any way. The eVito can also be loaded extremely well thanks to its large load compartment openings, low loading sill and sliding door on the left and right with 3 access points to the cargo hold.
Renault Master ZE 3.5 tonne form
- Price: From €64,000
- Range: Up to 200km
- Load volume: 13m³
- Payload: Up to one tonne
The Renault Master ZE in its 3.5 tonne form is another firm favourite of ours here at TSG
Charge. Also available in a standard panel van and platform cab variant, the Renault Master ZE range is the perfect range for a large fleet with great versatility.
The 3.5 tonne model offers a fantastic cargo volume for package deliveries while having an acceptable driving range for a day’s work. There are two downsides to the Master ZE, however. Charging takes between 6 and 17 hours and in colder weather, the official drive range can be as low as 80km. These are two considerations to bear in mind when considering purchasing a Master ZE.
Ford Transit Custom PHEV
- Price: From €38,000
- Range: Up to 56km (500km total range)
- Load volume: 6m³
- Payload: Up to one tonne
If an all-electric van doesn’t suit your business needs just yet and you need a vehicle which can do many long, daily trips then the Ford Transit Custom PHEV could be a fantastic alternative for you. Its compact battery is stowed under the cargo floor so that the load volume is not affected, while there is a 1.0 litre EcoBoost turbo petrol engine under the bonnet which can either power the van or recharge the battery.
There is a lot to like about Ford’s eye catching electric van. There are a number of driving modes to choose from to help you manage your energy use including hybrid mode, an EV mode and a save mode which can be set to activate automatically. 56km of EV driving range is plenty for short trips, while the backup of a petrol engine means you won’t need to worry about running out of power – a great option for a business transitioning their fleet to EV or whose delivery destinations can vary.
Maxus E (Standard)
- Price: From €25,800
- Range: Entry-level 35kWh unit – Up to 157km, larger capacity 52.5kWh unit – Up to 241km
- Load volume: 4.8m³
- Payload: Up to 905kg
This purpose-built electric van is now available in Ireland and comes in a short or long
wheelbase panel van and a long wheelbase platform chassis. What makes the Maxus E
unique is that it’s been designed as a pure electric van from the outset with no hybrid,
petrol or diesel version. Its large carrying capacity of 905kg for the standard version and
1,020kg for the long version is a huge carrying capacity for an electric van with such small dimensions. Another unique feature of the Maxus E is that it offers a choice of battery size as well as a fantastic driving range of up to 241km for the larger capacity 52.5kWh unit.
The Maxus E is suitable for a range of locations and a range of tasks with its small size
making it suitable for city manoeuvring and its large driving range making it suitable for
longer delivery needs. Its choice of vehicle and battery size makes it highly adaptable to suit your needs. The Maxus E will certainly be a huge rival for the more established Electric vans, especially with its competitive pricing.
Renault Kangoo ZE
- Price: From €29,244
- Range: Up to 273km
- Load volume: 3.5m³
- Payload: Up to 640kg
The Renault Kangoo ZE with its upgraded range will meet the needs of those who require a van for shorter daily distances and who have the facilities to charge the electric van overnight. With a pleasant drive and suitability for the city, the Kangoo ZE is a great investment for smaller-scale companies with lower daily mileage who are looking to explore the possibility of electrifying their fleet. Available with a 3.5 or 4.6 cubic meter load volume, the Kangoo ZE is a great investment for smaller-scale delivery or for those working in the construction industry.
The Kangoo ZE is the most successful small electric van in the European market, selling over 25,000 units since being launched in October 2011. Although fully electric vans are taking a while to fully catch on in the market, the advances that Renault are making in terms of range and choice mean that we will only see the Kangoo ZE and its counterparts become more popular as time goes on.
Vauxhall Vivaro E
- Price: From €32,000
- Range: Up to 330km
- Load volume: 6.6m³
- Payload: Up to 1,226kg
The Vauxhall Vivaro E joins a growing range of fully electric vans but has a number of
features which set it apart from the others.
The Vivaro E comes in a short or long wheelbase, panel van or double cab seating
arrangement and either a 50kWh or 70kWh battery pack. The Vivaro E also comes in a
choice of two trims – an entry-level Dynamic model or an Elite variant.
The Vivaro E’s payload of 1,226kg is only 130kg less than its combustion-engined version and Vauxhall says that it is currently the only electric vehicle in its segment which is capable of pulling a trailer. It also offers a fantastic range of up to 330km. This makes the Vivaro E the ideal electric van for more heavy-duty work and travel.
